SUST teacher‘s car runs over pedestrians, 2 dead
Two people were killed and three others were injured after a private car owned by a teacher of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) fell into a road crash in front of the main entrance of the university on Saturday.
One of the deceased was Ataur Rahman, a lecturer of Chhatak Degree College in Sunamganj.
Akhtar Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Jalalabad Police Station, told thereport24.com the road crash happened around 12:00pm as the driver lost control over the steering wheels, killing on sexagenarian the spot, injuring four others.
The injured were taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College. Of them, the lecturer succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Professor Dr Ariful Islam Department of Industrial and Production Engineering owns the car.
Dr Ariful, one of his colleague and his driver were also among the injured.
