The speakers at a memorial meeting on Saturday paid rich tributes to the late Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Chittagong University (CU) Prof Dr Abu Yousuf and recalled his significant contributions in education sector.
They said the lone dream of the late Prof Yousuf was to free the university from session jam and he was successful in turning the university into an excellent seat of learning.
"He never compromised with honesty and patriotism and tried his best to remove anti-progressive activities from the campus", they added.
The speakers came up with the comment while addressing a memorial meeting of the late VC of CU Prof Dr Abu Yousuf this morning. 'Dr Abu Yousuf Memorial Foundation' of CU arranged the memorial meeting on the occasion of his 5th death anniversary at CU Arts Faculty Auditorium.
Presided over by Prof Quazi Mostain Billah of English Department, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Prof Dr ASM Borhan Uddin of Islamic History and Culture Department, Arts Faculty dean Prof Dr Mohammad Sekandar Chowdhury and late Yousuf's wife Rowshan Ara Yousuf.
