PGCB to build transmission line of Rooppur power plant
A 7-km long 132 kV transmission line for the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) project will be constructed by the Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB) to aid the power supply during the plant’s construction works.

The steel-pole transmission line which will run from Iswardi of Pabna to Rooppur will cost Tk 32 crore.

The contract to construct the line was won by a Chinese joint venture of ZTT and Sinotech. They will construct it within the next one year on a turnkey basis.

Expenses will be paid by the RNPP will bear the expense of the transmission line.

PGCB and the Chinese JV company signed the deal on Monday.

PGCB Company Secretary Ashraf Hossain and ZTT chief representative Chen Zhiguang signed the contract on behalf of their respective sides.
